Clarice Benz is a multi-media artist based in Denver, Colorado.
Clarice Benz analyzes the aesthetics of the internal human body and its functions, striving to bring the insides out. Focus leads to presenting them to an audience in non-traditional ways. Her works are influenced by themes of deconstruction and the exploration of patterns. She pursues projects in the drawing, painting, printmaking, and digital mediums and investigates the facets of manipulation of ready made objects. With an interest in anatomy, she explores human interaction through the communicative vessel of the human body.
Clarice Benz received the Learning by Creating Grant from Willamette University in 2017 for her show, “but I want the gory details?”. She has also been an exhibiting artist at the arvada center for the arts for her piece skin and sensory and has been shown at the hallie ford museum of art in Salem, Oregon.
her most recent work, finger food, was on display at edge gallery in lakewood, colorado in may of 2021. Clarice Benz was born in Portland, oregon and graduated from Willamette University with a B.A. in Studio Art and a B.A. in Art History.
